Registration for the two hikes listed below will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Saturday, July 9th 12PM: Guided Hike to see blooming wild lemon lilies @ the James Reserve.  (It is impossible to guarantee lilies will be in bloom during this excursion. The hike, however, will still be worth the trip!) A van will depart from the Idyllwild Nature Center at 12:00PM promptly on Saturday, July 9th. The hike will be easy, lasting roughly 2.5 hours, including an introduction from James Reserve Employees. The van will return to the Nature Center by 3:00PM, including travel time. Limited to 15 individuals.

Sunday, July 10th, 9AM: High- Country Lemon Lily Survey Hike! (No experience necessary). Join the Forest Service’s District Botanist Debra Nelson on a survey excursion high in the San Jacintos. Exact length & Location TBD. This hike will be moderate to strenuous, approximately 6-8 miles long. At least 2 liters of water, sun protection, shoes with at least 20 miles on them, & appropriate clothing are mandatory. Limited to 15 individuals.

*You must provide your own transportation for this outing. Hike will depart from the Idyllwild area.

**Registration must be completed on (preferably before) JULY 5th, 2016.

To Register for the High Country Lemon Lily Survey Hike: Please add your name to the list by sending an E-Mail to AmAllen@rivcoparks.org or by calling 951.659.3850. If you call, please leave detailed contact information, including an e-mail address. Upon confirmation from Amanda Allen (Park Interpreter at Idyllwild Nature Center), you will be asked to:

1. Answer the question: “What hikes have you done in the last month? (Length & Elevation Gain). Provide the dates of at least 2 of the most recent hikes completed of similar mileage & elevation gain. Everyone will be responsible for knowing their own limits.

2. Fill out this form: Lemon lily Volunteer Agreement Forest Service Surveys.

Upon completion, both the question answers and forms will be forwarded to hike leader Debra Nelson. Further instruction will be provided by Debra, including meeting location and hike details.
